A polyhedron is a 3-dimensional shape made of points, line segments, flat faces, and a single cell. A polyhedron is an example of the more general polytope, in three dimensions.
Uniform Polyhedra[]
A uniform polyhedron is one where each vertex is surrounded by the same types of edges and faces, and each face is a regular polygon. The types of uniform polyhedra are:
- Platonic solids - Convex and regular
- Kepler-Poinsot polyhedra - Star and regular
- Archimedian solids - Other convex uniform polyhedra, excluding the prisms and antiprisms
- Prisms - Cartesian products of polygons and line segments
- Antiprisms
