A lifeverse is a verse in which the laws of physics are based upon cellular automata. Space is divided into a set of cells, and each tick a cell changes its state depending on the states of itself and all its neighboring cell.

The simplest type of lifeverse is one dimensional (a lineverse), with each cell having two neighbours to the left and right and existing in one of two states (black and white). These are called elementary lifeverses. There are 256 possible laws of physics for elementary lifeverses, but an infinite number overall due to varying initial states. Positions in elementary lifeverses can be given by (x, t), where x is a spatial dimension and an integer and t is a temporal dimension and a natural number.

There is other types of lifeverse, but we don't know about amount of the laws.
